| THE
KEYS TO THE KINGDOM
by Pistol Pete Midtgard
If
you've got a minute, I'd like to tell you about
a man
And it ain't gonna be easy, but I'll do the best
that I can
The
man was my father, first and foremost
And I'm sad to say, that yesterday, he gave up
the ghost
He
left with style and dignity, I just wanted you
to know
He left an awesome legacy, he was a beautiful
soul
And
as he walked into the valley in the shadow of
death
He feared no evil, and he had no regrets
The
lord called him, and he knew his voice
He gave him an option, and he made his choice
He
said, Come take me away, I'm not fighting anymore
I'm gonna play the hand that's dealt me, I've
had a good life
Fear not for me my son, as I leave this mortal
coil
I've got the keys to the kingdom, and I'm headed
for the door.
Honest,
brave, and unconditional - a teacher, a mentor,
he was a mensch
He was a man of principal, spreading love where
ever he went
And
as he walked into the valley in the shadow of
